ABOUT ABOUT

Finishing what we started on Rosh Hashanah

How do we want to show up in 5782 / 2021-2022?

Tilden Park, Brazilian Room, Berkeley, 3-5 pm, Wednesday, September 15

Seated on the patio of the gorgeous Brazilian Room in Tilden Park with views of the hills, join us for an outdoor, contemplative, soulful yet interactive Kol Nidre service, the beginning of the conclusion to our high holy days. The Tilden Minyan, the originators of Camp Tawonga's annual Rosh Hashanah celebration, branch out with a musical Erev Yom Kippur service amongst majestic redwood & eucalyptus.  Join Isaac Zones and friends on music, be a part of Deborah Newbrun's service leadership, and learn Torah with Sue Reinhold.

We will give people a place to conclude what we started on Rosh Hashanah: a place to pray, to consider the meaning of this one beautiful life and how we want to show up individually and collectively as a blessing in the world.

Join us in Tilden Park from 3-5 pm.  You may also plan to bring a picnic meal to share with family and friends on the grassy field afterwards.  We are planning for this to be a pre-fast meal service, and will provide questions in our literature for you to discuss over your pre-fast meal with family and friends.

Vaccination against the Covid-19 virus is required for all attendees.  We are working on the honor system for this.  Children under 12 cannot attend as they are unvaccinated.  And, the service is designed for ages 13 and up (we hope if we do this in the future we can make this an all-family environment).

If it rains, we will move indoors.  If we are outside, masks are recommended.  If we are inside we will all need to wear masks.

Attendance is limited to 150.  We expect to sell out. Get your tickets soon!
